At Sovereign Health, patients receive a high-quality of care that encompasses multiple aspects of well-being including physical, mental, social and spiritual health. Our holistic and multidimensional approach to treatment allows our expert clinical staff to use many different types of evidence-based interventions to meet our patients’ specific needs.
Sovereign Health offers behavioral health treatment for substance abuse, mental health and co-occurring disorders. Our licensed health care professionals and expert staff provide patients with cutting-edge treatments and interventions, individualized programs and a full continuum of therapeutic care.
Sovereign Health’s behavioral treatment approach largely depends on the nature and magnitude of the substance abuse and/or mental health condition exhibited by the patient. When two disorders occur together, one disorder can exacerbate the primary condition called a dual or co-occurring disorder. Patients who have co-occurring disorders require more expertise and approaches to treat both conditions. Unlike other treatment facilities, Sovereign Health is licensed for treating mental health and substance abuse.
During the admissions process, Sovereign Health’s expert clinical staff conducts a detailed and thorough assessment of each patient to assist him or her in identifying and treating any underlying and/or co-occurring conditions that may exist with the primary condition. Dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorders significantly influence the treatment plan, as it involves treating the secondary condition as well as the primary condition to ensure a successful recovery.
Sovereign Health specializes in the treatment of mental health, substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. Patients receive effective evidence-based treatments and interventions. There are specialized programs available for mental health, substance abuse and co-occurring disorders, which are provided at four main levels of care: detoxification, residential rehabilitation, partial hospitalization program (PHP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP).
Residential patients live in comfortable houses with beautiful views and a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere, so they are able to focus on what really matters. A case manager is assigned to each patient and keeps family members updated on his or her progress throughout treatment, with the patient’s permission and consent. There are also several gender-specific treatment locations available as well as facilities that specialize in treating adolescent behavior problems and trauma-related conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Sovereign Health’s holistic approach to treatment allows the clinical staff to use different interventions and therapies to combat each patient’s specific condition(s). Sovereign Health offers cutting-edge and evidence-based treatments for substance abuse and mental health including natural assisted detoxification (NAD), cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), psychotherapy, family therapy, schema and narrative treatment, process group therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and a brain wellness program, which utilizes neurofeedback, biofeedback and nutritional counseling to improve the functioning of the brain.
All patients are provided a combination of individual and group therapy while they are in treatment, which provides them with the one-on-one attention they need to address their unique concerns as well as the ability to interact with others with similar experiences and hardships. Some of the groups address topics such as anger and stress management, relapse prevention, stages of change, life skills and identifying triggers, which can be useful for developing skills and knowledge on how to combat their specific condition. Patients also benefit from case management, continuing care (i.e., alumni services) and family groups (i.e., navigating relationships) and therapy.
There are many reasons patients should consider receiving their behavioral health treatment for mental health, substance abuse or co-occurring disorders at Sovereign Health. Not only are our programs highly individualized, they also provide quality and evidence-based treatments that are effective in combating such conditions.
