Sovereign Health Announces Partnership with Argosy University
SAN CLEMENTE, Calif., Oct. 4, 2016 – Sovereign Health, a leading national licensed provider of behavioral health treatment services, has entered into a new partnership with Argosy University at local campuses in the Inland Empire in California and in Phoenix, Arizona. The Argosy University-Sovereign Health partnership provides students in the doctoral programs with the opportunity to obtain hands-on experience that will allow them to complete the necessary clinical training to graduate and move on to become practitioners. The students, who will work as practicum interns at Sovereign Health, will complete a 12-month practicum, working 16 to 24 hours per week providing patient care for Sovereign patients. Managed by Sovereign Health’s clinical leadership, the Argosy students will guide their patients through their individual and group therapy sessions, as well as serve as their patients’ primary clinician.
“We’re pleased to join forces with Argosy University, an institution known for its dedication in providing high-quality educational programs for working professionals,” said Dr. Tonmoy Sharma, Chief Executive Officer at Sovereign Health. “Argosy’s College of Counseling, Psychology and Social Sciences is developing future leaders in the mental health treatment community, and Sovereign is proud to provide the clinical development and educational environment they need.”
As noted by Monica Powers, Psy.D., Sovereign Health’s Director of Clinical Development, “Sovereign is excited to work with Argosy for practicum internships for doctoral study. Working with students from the onset is a great opportunity to grow the future clinicians of the profession, and it builds on our educational reputation as a serious contender for doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship.”
