Sovereign Health of Chandler, Arizona, has six houses located in a private cul-de-sac for residential treatment and four apartment buildings (sober living apartments) in a gated community for the intensive outpatient program (IOP). These residences house women in the Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Dual Diagnosis treatment programs.

The Serenity House is a unique new phase of the programs that involves teaching patients self-calming techniques. During this program phase, patients undergo comprehensive diagnostic assessment to prepare them for the transition to the treatment phase of the programs. During the assessment phase, patients will be placed in one of three treatment programs: Mental Health, Substance Abuse or Dual Diagnosis for patients who have co-occurring disorders.

Depending on the severity of symptoms, substance abuse and specific needs, patients will require different levels of care. All patients will begin at the Serenity House and then will move to either one of the six houses for residential treatment or the sober living apartments for intensive outpatient treatment.

Housing amenities include laundry, a flat-screen TV and cable, and a beautifully landscaped outdoor area and backyard for patients, while sober living apartments have a fitness center and a pool. Patients will also have limited TV and game time available most days. A nutritionist creates menus for patients. Patients may also make reasonable food requests for specific dietary needs and may receive assistance with food preparation inside residential accommodations.

During their stay at Sovereign Health of Chandler, women are able to participate in experiential outings, complementary treatments such as equine therapy, yoga classes and meditation, and gym outings in addition to standard treatments.
