Family Services

Family services offer support

Sovereign Health understands the devastating impact of substance abuse and/or mental health disorders on the entire family. As an effort to facilitate healing for everyone involved in treatment, Sovereign Health offers a number of family services to patients and their families during and after their loved one’s treatment.

Sovereign Health’s supportive family services include weekly family groups, family therapy and an Intensive Family Program. During the admissions process, patients and their families receive a Family Welcome Packet that will inform and guide them through the entire treatment process, outline ways that family members can be involved in their loved one’s treatment and provide families with additional support during this difficult time.

Family groups

Sovereign Health offers weekly family groups for patients and their families. Families who participate in these weekly family groups receive education and peer support. Some of the topics discussed in family groups include:

  • Roles and dynamics of the family system
  • Establishing healthy boundaries
  • Enabling and codependency
  • Managing symptoms, triggers and relapse
  • Long-term recovery management services
What is Addiction?

Addiction is a disease that manipulates a person’s sense of reward, motivation, memory and a number of related neurological functions.
