Trauma and recovery
Sovereign Health uses a trauma-informed approach to the care of all of our patients. This means that we do the following, according to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMSHA) guidelines:
- We realize the widespread impact of trauma and understand the paths to recovery.
- We recognize the signs and symptoms of trauma in patients, families and others.
- We respond by fully integrating our knowledge about trauma into all of our policies, procedures and practices.
- We seek to actively avoid the re-traumatization of our patients.
Our trauma-informed approach to care provides our patients the safety, support, collaboration and empowerment they need to be able to recover from trauma and all of its consequences.
Evidence-based treatments mark our mental health, addiction and other programs.
All our locations treat addiction and dual diagnosis, while some offer additional specialized programs.
We offer adults and adolescents residential, outpatient and other levels of care.
A multidisciplinary team works together to provide the best care for every diagnosis.

Trauma Treatment Programs
For patients who have been traumatized, Sovereign Health offers specialized trauma treatment programs as part of our mental health care services. Our trauma treatment programs address the consequences of trauma, facilitate healing, foster resilience and help reduce the risk of further traumatization.
